Garden Day

Gardening and Floriculture Fair

Sicily, Italy’s third-largest horticultural hub with over 400 companies, excels in the production of Mediterranean ornamental plants. This growing sector, thanks to its favorable microclimate, brings quality, innovation, and native species prized throughout Europe to the European market.
Design & Planting Flowering represents the most recent and innovative production trend for Sicily, as for other southern regions. It is the third largest production hub in Italy, consisting of approximately 400 companies, after Tuscany and Liguria, but first in terms of product quality and originality thanks to a microclimate particularly favorable to the production of ornamental plants. It represents a successful business model that over the last 30 years has seen a rapid reconversion from traditional fruit and vegetable nurseries, in recession due to the contraction of the regional citrus sector, to new ornamental potted production of native Mediterranean species, which today find full acceptance and appreciation primarily in the Central European market.
